Kenneth has competed in several events, including the individual college team camps. Among them: Marist, Penn, Temple, Villanova, Rutgers, Syracuse, Connecticut, Lafayette, and Fordham.
Kenneth had a very good NIKE sponsored event held in Baltimore, Maryland. Held at Coppin State, Kenny tied for first in the Kneeling Power Ball toss -- 41 feet and had a Sparq Rating of 80.82.
Coughlin has also taken an unofficial campus visit to Delaware, according to his dad. "It was a great time," said Mr. Coughlin. "We were there for the spring football game. The campus is beautiful."
COUGHLIN'S PREVIOUSLY CAMPUS TRIP:
Coughin previously took and had a terrific unofficial visit to Pennsylvania.
"It was an unbelievable visit," said Mr. Coughlin previously. "University of Pennsylvania is gorgeous. They are very interested, and have told him to get a 1200+ on his SAT. He really loved it and was extremely impressed. Coaching Staff was top-rate."
According to Kenneth's dad, Coughlin is enrolled at Parisi Speed + Strength school for six months (six days a week focusing on speed, agility and strength).
Last year he made it to the U100. Kenneth was i the top five in the strength portion of it last year. He produced 29 reps at 155 pounds and ran a 40 in 4.86. He wants to get to the 4.6 to 4.7 range this year.
HONORS FOR HIS JUNIOR SEASON:
Kenneth was selected to the Staten Island Advance All Star team. In addition, Coughlin was named First Team All Staten Island and Second Team All City by the New York Post.
HIS JUNIOR SEASON:
We previously reported that Coughlin's season had ended in a PSAL semifinal playoff loss to Fort Hamilton.
However, Coughlin was one of the main reasons why his high school team went deep into the playoffs. He produced nine tackles to help his football team score a convincing 33-6 victory in the quarterfinals.
In addition to his nine tackles in the quarterfinal playoff game, he recorded a sack and two quarterback pressures that led to two interceptions.
DESCRIPTION OF COUGHLIN'S INDIVIDUAL GAME:
Considered a multiple position player, Coughlin is also the long snapper for Tottenville. He was named to second team All City defense in 2009-2010 as a defensive tackle last season while also spending some minutes playing the defensive end and linebacker positions.
