Here's how the announcment from the NYSSWA read on Wednesday:
Call it a split decision for player of the year in New York boys high school basketball.
Omar Calhoun of Christ The King won Gatorade's award last month after Jamesville-DeWitt's DaJuan Coleman snared top honors in March by earning Mr. Basketball from the Basketball Coaches Association of New York.
And it was a draw this afternoon as the New York State Sportswriters Association crowned Calhoun as its player of the year in Class AA and Coleman took the Class A edition of the award.
Players of the year and all-state teams in all five classes were announced. The full NYSSWA all-state lists are posted on the RoadToGlensFalls.com website.
