Herbie Allen Receives An Offer

One of the best scoring guards in New York City already has a scholarship offer on the table ...

Herbie Allen, a 5-foot-9, 160-pound combo guard from Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn is a shifty guard with a scorer's mentality.

Allen is a player who can create his own shot and often looks for it. The streaky shooter can become trigger-happy at times, but he has the ability to score in bunches and a knack for putting it in the hole.

Herbie scored 26 points in the Metro Hawks/Future Star's loss to Mount Vernon in the IS8 playoffs on Saturday.

Allen has seen interest from schools like Rider, Hofstra, George Washington, and Drexel, as well as feelers from some Big East schools. Rider has offered.

Herbie averaged 17.1 points per game last season on Khalid Green's Loughlin team.

Herbie will play for Kenny Pretlow for the Metro Hawks this summer, and will likely attend the Nike Camp.
