Ravens/New Heights 61, Connecticut Flame 58
A runner by Malcolm Pope (5-foot-9, 150 pound pg, Blair Academy, NJ, 2007) with less than a minute to play helped the combination Ravens/New Heights team escape with a win over the Flame. The victors received 11 points each from Shawn Hilliard (6-foot-5, 180 lbs PF/SF, Wings Academy, prep-bound), 6-foot-4 small forward Patrick Crean (Sleepy Hollow/prep), and 6-foot-1 point guard Rich Jackson (St. Raymond's/prep), while Pope chipped in with 10 points.
The Flame was led by recent Longwood signee Kirk Williams from The Woodlands in Hartsdale, New York, who collected 17 points on an array of athletic finishes. Brown-bound shooting guard Chris Skrelja from Trinity Catholic High School in Connecticut added 13 points.
Louisiana Select 61, Connecticut Basketball Club 52
6-foot-7 PF Leonard Washington led Louisiana Select with 16 points. Doug Wiggins paced Connecticut Basketball Club with 19 points, while 6-foot-7 PF Matt Hill (Chesire Academy) added 14 points.
Long Island Lightning 69, Team Maine 44
The Lightning enlisted the services of 6-foot-4, 185 pound small forward Jeff Robinson from St. Patrick's in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and the athletic lefthander led the team with 15 points, including a couple of impressive finishes. 6-foot-2 combo guard Akeem Bennett from West Hempstead High School added 12 points, while 6-foot-7 jumping jack Justin Burrell (Our Savior Lutheran, The Bronx) tallied 10 in the win. Corey Fisher also had his moments in the win.
6-foot-2, 170 pound shooting guard Carlos Strong (Deering High School, Portland, Maine) led Team Maine with 24 points.
Albany City Rocks Orange 61, Rams AAU 41
6-foot-3, 170 pound shooting guard Melquan Bolding led the City Rocks to a decisive victory in the last round of games on Friday night. 5-foot-11 point guard Talor Battle added 15 points, while 6-foot-10 Brad Sheehan (Shaker High School) pitched in with 10 points.
