Northfield Mount Hermon 60, Boys Club of New York 53, OT
Northfield put the game away convincingly in the extra stanza after BCNY's Jamel Ferguson had forced overtime with a corner three-pointer with :30 to play in regulation.
A baseline jumper by junior point guard Gary Correia, a baby hook by Adam Walker, and successful trips to the free throw line by Terrell Williams and Dan McGeary put the game away in OT.
Walker, a 6-foot-7 1/2 post-graduate from Christ the King, was the high scorer for Northfield with 22 points. He wasn't finishing well in this game but was consistent at the line, finishing 12-for-15.
Correia was arguably the team's top performer, hitting for 15 points and making some crucial second half shots. The 6-foot-6 junior Williams scored 14 points and New Hampshire-bound guard Dan McGeary was also very solid, pitching in with nine.
The 6-foot-4 shooting guard Ferguson, a post-graduate from Queens who recently left Milford Academy in New Berlin, New York, led BCNY with 21 points, 15 in the second half. Ferguson is unsigned and qualified.
