New Jersey Forward Chooses Right Level

Scout.com East Coast recruiting expert Mike Sullivan takes a look at the game of a forward from New Jersey who recently made a verbal commitment ...

It was reported recently that 6-foot-7 power forward Jerrell Williams had made a verbal commitment to LaSalle. It was the right level and a level that Williams can be an impact player down the road.

Williams, who competed in some AAU events for the New Heights AAU program, is currently at Northfield Mount Hermon in Massachusetts.

Jerrell started off his spring with a terrific event at The Basketball City complex at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. New Heights won the event, sponsored by Five Star.

Williams also played well at the Playaz Ball in July.

Scouting Report: Williams is an active forward. He can score inside and appears to have no fear in battling bigger players inside the paint. He doesn't mind making his living around the basket.

Jerrell is also agile enough to drive past defenders and score on layups. Williams is a player that earns a sweat at both ends of the court. He has the ability to outwork others for loose balls and putbacks.

Conclusion: A great pickup for LaSalle. Williams will be a solid four-year player who does a lot of dirty work around the basket. He will be a very valuable part of the LaSalle program.
