Scout.com's East Coast Mike Sullivan takes a look at the game of Mike Coburn ...

The history is there, a great one to draw upon for players competing at Mount Vernon High School in Mount Vernon, New York. Head coach Bob Cimmino has done a terrific job in keeping his great program on a roll.

Cimmino will certainly rely upon lead guard Mike Coburn, the 5-foot-11 senior floor general who also has competed for the Metro Hawks during summer AAU events.

Mike has already given a commitment to Rutgers University of the Big East Conference. Coburn had stated Rutgers had been a school he liked for a while.

Brian Towey's Scouting Report: A bullishly strong lead guard (built like a high school running back), Coburn is strong off the dribble and difficult to stop on forays to the rim. He has been one of the cornerstones for what is arguably the top high school program in the state of New York and the defending AA State Federation champions.

Conclusion: The pressure is off in the recruiting process. Now Coburn can focus on helping his team win another State title. Mike is an intense competitor who is striving to achieve a more consistent game each night.
