MIKE SULLIVAN'S THOUGHTS ON MALIK BOOTHE'S INDIVIDUAL GAME: At 5-foot-9, Boothe is built strong enough to handle the physical pressures of playing in the Big East. He will need to strengthen his perimeter game but has proven in previous games he can nail the jumper when needed. He can make himself a consistent threat by showing his defender he can drop in the open jumper.
Boothe is strong enough and has tremendous court vision and intelligence. He doesn't panic when pressured and he understands how to attack all sorts of pressing defenses. Malik is a player other players love to compete with due to his unselfishness and court awareness. He will make other players better with his passing skills.
WHAT ST. JOHN'S HEAD COACH NORM ROBERTS SAYS ABOUT MALIK BOOTHE: "Malik has a toughness to him," Roberts said. "He is a Big East caliber guard who will sacrifice scoring himself to help the team win. And if he needs to score, he can. He is an unselfish player."
