SOUTH ORANGE, NEW JERSEY -- Mike Rosario buried seven three-pointers, including five in the key second half of play, to lead the Playaz AAU team to a 66-37 victory over 3 Down in the final of the Joe Brown Memorial tournament held on the campus of Seton Hall University.
The Playaz took a 21-12 lead as Chris Gaston scored six points with a couple of nice up and under moves. Gaston also did a terrific job in clogging up the middle of the lane for the Playaz. He recorded seven blocks in the contest.
Jiovanny Fontan also was a key performer for the winners. He scored on drives to the basket and was unselfish on the offensive side.
Rosario finished the game with 23 points while Fontan had 11 points. Rosario has already committed to Rutgers while Fontan has given a verbal decision to Fordham University.
