AAU BASKETBALL TEAM: New York Elite
AAU BASKETBALL COACHES: Chris Phillips and Eric Jaklitsch
TEENG AKOL'S STRENGTHS: With his size, Akol is an intriguing prospect because he has the ability to score from the perimeter. Like most big men with skills, consistency is the key in making the transformation from the power slot on the forward line to playing the wing.
Akol has another year to improve these key aspects of his game. If he does succeed in making himself a threat around the basket and near the foul line, Teeng will receive plenty of high division one offers.
COLLEGES/UNIVERSITIES OF INTEREST: According to New York Elite coach/OSNA assistant coach Eric Jaklitsch, DePaul, Pittsburgh, Houston, Syracuse, and West Virginia have been the schools that have shown the most interest in Akol's individual skills.
Obviously, it is key for Akol to have a big senior season and further show his ability to be a balanced scorer. Displaying more big men skills too in the paint would even more enhance college coaches' confidence in Teeng making the jump to the next level.
