Reporter Frank Mantesta has story on Boys & Girls claiming a victory at Baruch ...

Coach Ruth Lovelace was in a happy mood after her Boys & Girls High School team claimed a 63-44 victory over Queen of Peace High School in the Big Apple event held at Baruch College in Manhattan.

"We have a team that really plays well together and really like each other," said Lovelace. "It doesn’t matter who scores as long as we win."

Brandon Romain led them with 21 points and Clayton Sterling added 13 points in the victory. Brandon hit several sweet left-handed jumpers and drives to the hoop.

Brandon was named the MVP of the game.

Senior center Kyrie Sutton stepped up for Boys & Girls High School. The 6-foot-9 big man had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Kangaroos. Kyrie who has not played due to his transfer and then a torn acl has recovered nicely.

Lovelace was right about the Kangaroos being a team. While David Imes did not have a great day shooting the ball, the rest of the team picked up the slack. And when someone else falters, Imes is usually there to help Lovelace's team win the basketball game. Today, it was Romain who sparkled. Who will it be the next time the Kangaroos play?
