Brooklyn Forward Recovering From Injury

Reporter Frank Mantesta has the story on Patrick Jackson ...

Over the past couple of years, Patrick Jackson has proven to be one of the best players in the New York City area. He was rewarded with several scholarship offers. He accepted a Rutgers offer and is now preparing himself to play in the Big East Conference.

Jackson transferred before the high school year began from Xaverian High School to Boys & Girls High School in Brooklyn, New York. The Kangaroos recently won a game in the Big Apple event held at Baruch College.

However, Jackson didn't play due to an ankle injury. It was described by the Boys & Girls coaching staff as badly sprained.

But when he does recover properly, it will give head coach Ruth Lovelace another weapon on a team that is loaded with several division one prospects.

In the game I watched, Boys & Girls clobbered Queen of Peace High School, 63-44. The Kangaroos will need a healthy Patrick Jackson to make an attempt to win a PSAL championship.

Over the summer, Jackson's confidence accelerated and he looked comfortable in the low post grabbing rebounds and shooting perimeter shots. He showed a consistent and balanced floor game.

It's why he got several offers and why many in the area believe he will have a solid Big East career. First, he needs to get healthy.
