Quinnipiac Recruit A Solid Prospect

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a story on James Johnson ... | ||||

Tom Moore had gained a reputation as one of the best recruiters in the business while helping the Connecticut program attract many top 100 players. He's in a different situation now as the head coach of Quinnipiac College in Connecticut. However, Moore can still recruit and he knows the New York City area is a great place to search out players for his level. Among the recruits he landed was James Johnson, a 6-foot lead guard from Bishop Loughlin High School in Brooklyn, New York. Johnson recently completed CHSAA playoff time with Loughlin, as he scored seven points in his team's semifinal loss to Christ The King High School. James is a smart guard who tries to get his teammates involved in the play first before taking his shot. Loughlin is filled with a wealth of talent too so Johnson fulfills his role wisely. The senior guard from Queens did a nice job in leading this Loughlin team to the semifinals. He is a solid floor general who can drop down the open three-pointer when given the opportunity. James also plays hard on the other side of the ball. He is a tough New York City guard who can defend in man-to-man situations. His choice of Quinnipiac is a good one. This is a level that his individual game should grow. Moore and his assistants moved smartly in the New York area to help their future backcourt situation. |
