It was a little over a decade that the Amateur Athletic Union joined forces with Disney to produce several sports events. And during the month of July, it's a time when college coaches, scouts, media, and players come together to compete in several events.
Most of these games were held inside the Milk House, an air conditioned facility with concessions and stands that allowed parents, friends, relatives, players, and coaches to enjoy a terrific atmosphere.
Recently, Disney added a new facility -- the Jostens Center. It features six brand new basketball courts and allows the AAU to produce events at the same time. This week, the Wide World of Sport complex housed the Showcases for 15s, 16s, and 17s.
Later this week, the National AAU tournament for 17s will be held. ESPNU will televise the championship game as well as selected games from the 17s Showcase. ESPN's Paul Biancardi will be one of the announcers. "It's exciting to do it," he said. "I love watching the kids play. And this is a great place to get your work done."

The reason why so many college coaches like coming here is the accessibility of the courts. Inside the Milk House there are six courts easily available within walking distance. The Jostens Center is located directly across from the Milk House with six more courts, giving fans and coaches 12 courts of action at the same time.
"It's nice to come and watch the games here," said St. John's head coach Norm Roberts. "You can get a lot of work done and watch a lot of kids in a short amount of time."
With the events being held inside Disney World, it also gives many college coaches with families an opportunity to take a business vacation. We sampled many college coaches and quite a few stated they had brought down their wives and kids for the week while they worked.
"I'm thinking about bringing my kid down to take him to the water parks," said Syracuse assistant Mike Hopkins, who was on hand to watch several recruits, including Doron Lamb, Markus Kennedy, and Taran Buie.
