Eric Devendorf, a 6-foot-4, 178 pound junior guard, injured his knee in the December 15, 2007, game with East Tennessee State. He had scored 19 points on seven-for-nine shooting before leaving the floor early in the second half. SU won 125-75.
In 10 games last season, all starts, Devendorf averaged 17.8 points, 3.9 assists and 2.6 rebounds. He spent part of the previous summer at the USA Basketball Pan-American trials and was named to the preseason All-Big East team.
Over his career, the Bay City, Michigan native has averaged 13.9 points, 3.3 assists, 2.6 rebounds and 1.2 steals. He's shot 43.3 percent overall, 37.1% from three-point range, and 79.5% from the foul line.
Devendorf became Bay City Central High School's all-time leading scorer with 1,224 points after three seasons. As a junior, he averaged 30.6 points and 8.0 rebounds a game. He was named All-State all three years.
Devendorf finished his prep career at Oak Hill Academy in Mouth of Wilson, Va. where he averaged 15.3 points and 4.5 assists per game.
Devendorf will be classified as a senior academically and a junior in athletic eligibility for the 2008-09 season.
