Wayne Newsom, a 6-foot-7, 205-pound forward from Piscataway High School in Piscataway, New Jersey, has seen his recruiting process pick up quite a bit, according to NJABC head coach Matt Pauls.
"Wayne has new interest from Drexel, Quinnipiac, and Iona," said Pauls.
Newsom, a 2010 prospect, is expected to have a big junior season. And he has taken some recent unofficial campus visits.
"He had an excellent unofficial visit to Robert Morris University a few weeks ago," said Pauls. "His recruitment is still wide open."
Pauls said that Newsom is being looked at by several NEC, MAAC and CAA schools.
Below is a previous evaluation report on Wayne Newsom's individual game:
MATT PAULS' VIEW OF WAYNE NEWSOM'S INDIVIDUAL GAME: "He dunks the ball, beats guys off the dribble, rebounds like a monster - he just needs to improve his mid-range jumper, and his strength. Wayne's work ethic is unbelievable. He sometimes works out 3 times per day, and often calls me and asks what he can do better, how he can do things differently, etc."
