Sean Johnson isn't ready to break down his recruitment, but when that time comes he should have plenty of options.

Johnson, a senior at Christ the King (N.Y.) High School, was named MVP of the CHSAA's "AA" League this week. And coming off of a 38-point performance against Elizabeth (N.J.) High School at the Prime Time Shootout, Johnson has fielded recruiting inquiries from a number of new programs.

"A bunch of new schools have called," said Johnson. "Marist called, VCU, Wichita State, Rhode Island. I've been in contact with Houston a lot (too)."

Head coaches from Manhattan, Quinnipiac, and Iona as well as assistants from Long Island University and Marist were on hand for Christ the King's win over Archbishop Molloy in the Brooklyn-Queens CHSAA Diocesan semifinals on Wednesday night. Johnson scored 33 points, playing a pivotal role in the win.

An athletic slasher with a great motor, Johnson thrives in the transition game and plays hard at both ends of the floor.

Johnson will wait until after his high school season to figure things out.

"I'm not considering any schools right now," said Johnson. "I was going to evaluate it at the end of the season."
