East Coast SG Continues To Attract D-1 Looks

Reporter Mike Sullivan has a recruiting update on the status of shooting guard Devin Coleman, a prospect from the state of Pennsylvania who had a very good summer ...

Devin Coleman, a 6-foot-3, 180-pound shooting guard/small forward from Friends Central High School in Wynnewood, Penn., continues to pile up some impressive division one interest in his skill level.

We previously reported that Devin was offered a scholarship by St. Bonaventure. Sources tell us that more schools are now showing interest, including West Virginia, Virginia, Georgia, and Georgetown.

Devin had a terrific summer, first in the July evaluation period, and then in August as he competed in the Chosen League held in Philadelphia, Penn.

*Devin poured in 21 points in helping his team win a first round playoff game in the NIKE Chosen Leauge (19 and under age category). However, Team Phenom lost in a semifinal playoff game to Thaddeus Young, 100-90.

*Devin was the MVP of the Reebok Summer Classic and was named to the All tournament team in an event held at West Virginia in the 16 and under age category Team Phenom team.

*During the summer evaluation month of July, Coleman traveled to Las Vegas and had a nice event. "He scored 31 points to help us advance in the ADIDAS 64," Gripper stated previously.

COLEMAN'S BIG SPRING AND SUMMER ON THE AAU CIRCUIT:

Devin dropped in 24 points, grabbed four rebounds, and had two assists to help Team Phenom claim a 76-59 victory at the West Virginia Jamfest.

Below is a previously detailed report on it:

1. Made the all tournament team at the Bob Gibbons Memorial Day Classic held in North Carolina.

2. Selected to the all tourney team at the Southern Invitational in Charlottesville, Virginia.

3. Honored with being named to the all tournament team at the Pitt Jamfest.

4. Named to the 2009 Reebok Summer Classic All tournament team.

COLLEGES/UNIVERSITIES OF INTEREST: We previously mentioned interest from Georgia Tech, Siena, Marist, St. Joe's, La Salle, Temple, and Delaware.
