, a 6-foot-5, 225-pound forward, competed this past weekend for the Spongetech Elite (formerly the New York Elite) in the IS8 Fall League.
Stukes played well, helping his team split the two games on Sunday. He scored 16 points against the Kyrie Irving led Sports University team, a 93-79 loss.
In Stukes' second game of the day, James scored 20 points to help the Elite claim a 79-69 victory over the Brooklyn Ballers. Stukes scored mostly on drives to the basket and offensive putbacks.
James already has a nice frame, wide, and possesses enough skills to use his handle near the basket to outmaneuver his opponents. It's when he finds himself in traffic at the other end of the court that it becomes a problem.
Stukes is already committed to Albany for the 2010-2011 season. This is a solid get again for the Albany staff, a group that has done a solid job recruiting in the tri-state area.
*Previously, Stukes was an impact player at the Jordan Regional game in April, gobbling up 31 of the 40 minutes. He scored 24 points, grabbed five rebounds, and had two assists. His effort helped the City team defeat the Suburban team, 129-120.
According to the coaching staff of the Elite, James is now at Winchendon School. Stukes played previously for Rice High School in New York City.
