Long Islander Preparing Game For The Big East

J.J. Moore

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a look at the individual game of Long Islander J.J. Moore, who will play in the Big East next season for the Pittsburgh Panthers ...

J.J. Moore, a 6-foot-5 wing guard from South Kent in Connecticut, told us the year has started off fine for him. "I'm enjoying my time at South Kent," he said. Moore, who previously competed for Brentwood High School on Long Island, New York, had a wonderful IS8 Fall League tournament, grabbing the top player honors in the talent filled event.

J.J. showcased his ability to score from anywhere on the court, including dropping down deep jumpers from the corner for the New York Panthers.

"I'm just trying to work on all parts of my game," he said.

Moore has plenty of high division one interest in his skill level. He eventually settled in on a decision to play for Jamie Dixon and the Pittsburgh Panthers basketball program, a school that has done a terrific job recruiting in the New York tri-state area.

"They have a great school and team," said Moore. "I'm looking forward playing for Coach Dixon next season. I felt comfortable with the coaches and the players."

Moore is preparing himself to play in of the country's toughest night in and night out basketball conferences. No problem for J.J. "I'll definitely be ready," he said with confidence.
