Big Man Finishes Up Summer In Grand Style

Markus Kennedy

Reporter Mike Sullivan provides a look at the summer of talented big man prospect Markus Kennedy, who finished up August in grand fashion with an MVP honor ...

Markus Kennedy, a 6-foot-9, 230-pound center prospect who hails from the Garden State of New Jersey, finished up the summer of AAU ball with a great tournament.

Kennedy captured the Most Valuable Player in the NIKE Chosen League tournament (19 and under). He scored 15 points and grabbed 12 rebounds to lead his team, Mustafa Shakur to a 54-49 victory over Jrue Holiday in the championship game.

Last April, national reporter Dave Telep published a story that Kennedy was returning home to Philadelphia to play college basketball for Villanova in the Big East Conference.

We watched Kennedy play extensively when he competed for Matt Pauls' Team NJABC AAU program a few summers ago at the Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando, Florida on the grounds of Disney World.

Kennedy's game was progressing at that stage and he has rounded into one of the better big men in his class. Recommended Stories
