The 6-foot-7, 195 pound power forward from Trinity Pawling School in Pawling, New York, had his eye on the Ivies for some time.

Reid Wittman's had his eye on the Ivies for some time. This week, the 6-foot-7, 195 pound power forward from Trinity Pawling School in Pawling, New York, found the right program for him: Yale.

"Obviously it's one of the best schools in the country- that's what I wanted all along," said Wittman. "I wanted to use basketball as a tool (to get an education)."

Head coach James Jones was part of the draw with Yale. "I really like Coach Jones," said Wittman. "I think he's someone that can make me a lot better. That's what I'm really looking forward to."

Wittman, a native of New York City, also considered Cornell, Penn, and Dartmouth. Recently, he took an official visit to Cornell. He had previously taken an official visit to William & Mary. "I liked the environment up there," said Wittman. "It's not too far, but far enough away. I also liked the guys."

Wittman is a skilled four-man who can knock down the mid and long range jumper. He's worked on his ball handling skills, and has improved himself physically over the past six months. He's a good athlete who willingly hits the glass.

Wittman competed in the past on the AAU circuit with the Long Island Panthers and the New Heights.
