Scout.com's High School East Coast recruiting expert Mike Sullivan profiles the game of an exciting guard from New York City who impressed while competing for the New York City Gauchos during the summer ...

The Gauchos. The name is given a great deal of respect from across the country when discussing AAU basketball. It's a program that has been rich with tremendous players, especially at the guard position.

Billy Lovett did a terrific job this summer in helping the Gauchos win a few 16 and under titles. And the name of Kemba Walker is starting to receive some more recognition after his July play.

"He's a tremendous player," Lovett said.

Billy would know. Walker was a big part of his team that had a successful spring and summer. Walker, a 6-foot lead guard from Rice High School in New York City, was a big part of the title runs. And Walker is just a 2008 prospect.

Kemba already has the interest of the area schools, including Seton Hall and St. John's. Norm Roberts and his staff have already had Walker on their campus.

But it's a national show so far for the recruiting picture of Walker. Lovett previously told the Scout.com High School New York site: "I have received calls from Georgetown, Indiana, Cincinnati, and Purdue," Lovett said.

Rice High School always plays a tough schedule and is part of the rough and competive New York City Catholic League. So Walker will be tested almost every night in improving his skills. And this is a positive aspect of Walker's season, especially for the schools that would want him as part of their program in two seasons.
