NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Kansas recruit Quintrell Thomas damaged the St. Raymond's defense for 27 points to help St. Patrick claim a 64-56 victory at the NIKE Super Six held at Madison Square Garden.

Thomas, who also was terrific on the glass, picked up 13 rebounds and was named the game's Most Valuable Player. The tough, inside forward had 12 of his 27 points in the first two quarters of play, helping the Celtics to a 30-29 advantage.

However, the Ravens of St. Raymond's were pesky throughout the game and if not for some sloppy play in the backcourt, Oliver Antigua's team might have won this contest.

St. Patrick led 47-43 heading into the fourth quarter. And it looked like the Celtics might be in trouble when Thomas picked up his fourth foul with 7:50 left in the game. Head coach Kevin Boyle stuck with his best player for the reminder of the game and it paid off.

Jamel Jenkins added 11 points for the winners as did Dexter Strickland. Kevin Parron of St. Raymond's was given the sportsmanship award after recording 10 points and pulling down 13 rebounds.

Darryl Bryant led the Ravens with 17 points. But the best player on the court was Thomas, who slammed home six dunks and electrified the crowd with his around the rim play.
