| Chris Taft was a highly-rated recruit who begins his first year as a Panther and will be making his mark in the inside game.
At Xaverian Prep, Chris was a New York State Player of the Year and First Team All-State as a senior, also earning E.A. Sports All America and Parade All America (third team) honors. The New York Daily News and New York Press both named him to the All-CHSSA First Team. His junior year saw him leading the team the docesan title and the CHSAA Final Four, earning him Second Team All-City from the New York Daily News. USA Today rated him an Ace Recruit and Rivahoops.com ranked him No. 21 among recruits. He was also rated No. 21 on PrepStar's Top-100 Seniors list.
